About Addressable Information Resources
This is a story about the Addressable Information Resource and what you can do with it.
#
An Addressable Information Resource, also known as an AIR, is identified everywhere in NexistWiki by its blue arrow .
The blue arrow points to a home page for the information resource captured above it. That information resource can include:
- Single sentences or individual words
- Single paragraphs of text
- Many paragraphs of text, including whole stories, software source code, and more
- Tables
- Images
- Multimedia objects (movies, sound, and more) #
Decisions about what to include in an AIR are left to the creator of that information resource. #
Editing an AIR is restricted to the original creator of that resource, and any user designated as a superuser.
This policy stands in contrast to traditional Wiki policies, some of which allow the entire page to be edited by all users. #
The diagram above makes it clear that the home page of an AIR serves as a "launching point" from which a network of links can be created using Associations, and from which IBIS (issue-based information systems) discussion can be conducted. #
